Egeus threatens his daughter with the penalty of death or exile. In The Merchant of Venice, Shylock?s daughter, Jessica, denies her faith and steals from her father in order to marry Lorenzo, a man of whom she is unequally yoked. In King Lear, the title character, ruler of Britain, attempts to divide his kingdom according to the profession of love by his three daughters: Goneril, Regan and Cordelia. Goneril and Regan profess undying love choosing the most melodic words, while Cordelia is speechless at the task, stating:..........Unhappy that I am, I cannot heave .....................My heart into my mouth: I love your majesty .....................According to my bond; nor more nor less. (Lines 93-95) King Lear becomes angry with Cordelia and banishes her. The other daughters begin to treat him viciously, Goneril slapping him at one point. Letters- Shakespeare uses letters as characters in the plays that serve to tie key factors together for cohesion and clarity. In the Merchant of Venice, Shakespeare uses a letter from Antonio to bring the culmination of events to a head at the end of the play, setting the stage for the courtroom scene. Antonio writes, "my ships have all miscarried"(314) He tells his friend of his troubles and beckons him to come see him one last time as he ultimately gives his life for his friend?s debt. If Bassanio does not go to the court proceedings, then his wife Portia has no cause to be in the court scene, which leads to A... ...ia?s life without her father would have been an unhappy one. She reflects in the first scene that it is this love and attachment that kept her celibate for so long. With the newly revived relationship and her father?s final recognition of Cordelia, she would not have been able to bear losing him again in the event of his demise. Although the image of Lear holding Cordelia seems horrific, it is actually quite pleasant to see that final image of him cradling Cordelia as a father would a beloved daughter. Shylock?s ill deeds do not go unpunished in The Merchant of Venice. The climactic courtroom scene where Portia tricks the Jew into submission give credence to Shakespeare?s theme of justice throughout each play. As the audience stomachs through each act, watching Shylock?s moods shift from rage to self pity and eventually to the brink of lunacy, they anticipate justice being served to the ill-famed character. The fact that Shakespeare uses a woman to mastermind and in effect hand over the sentence, cemented by the male judge, is another part of justice being served in that Jessica, Shylock?s daughter, was unable to stand up to her father and speak against his will.

From bartering to coinage to paper, the want and need for money has never changed. In author William Hazlitt’s essay, On the Want of Money, he clearly describes how money can effectively make or break one’s life. He uses examples, syntax, diction, and tone to show that in a world without money a human being will experience the harshness of life.After stating his position that â€Å"one cannot get on well in the world without money. † author Hazlitt lists a variety of examples to show the outcome of one’s life if they were to live without money. He clearly states that without money your life will basically be miserable, and useless. He not only shares examples of how life would be without money, but also a little bit about how it would be WITH money. His long list of harsh examples a llows the reader to paint a picture of Hazlitt’s position.Considering that the whole essay consists of three sentences, the readers begin to feel overwhelmed. By overwhelming the reader, they’re able to get a sense of the burden they would feel if they were to live without money. The method of listing also makes readers see the endlessness of problems a person may over go. Listing examples of the way life would be without money makes the reader change their perspective of living â€Å"freely†. On the Want of Money is filled with harsh diction which creates a dreary tone for readers.Hazlitt uses a list of negative words such as, â€Å"despised†, â€Å"rejected†, â€Å"carped†, â€Å"disparaged†, â€Å"scrutinized†, â€Å"neglected†, â€Å"thrall†, â€Å"irksome†, â€Å"compelled†, â€Å"deprived†, â€Å"back-biting†, â€Å"disappointment†, and â€Å"burden† to emphasize the severe effects and harshness of being poor. By emphasizing in his essay, readers are able to realize the way their life would change dramatically if money were to be completely abolished from their lives. Harsh diction also helps express the endlessness of negative outcomes. Not only does harsh diction create negativity but also produces a dreary, unemotional-like tone.By creating a solemn tone, readers are then able to realize the appreciation they should have toward money. Diction and tone really has an effect on the readers because it helps them feel what it’s like without money, and creates an experience of being less fortunate. Money plays a major role in a human beings life because although it’s deniable, money can sometimes really be the answer to happiness. Without money, a person may end up living a hard, struggling life. No matter what form that money is in, a person should always carry it around to be able to get through the harshness and reality of life.

Algebraic Method: It is also known as equation method of calculating the breakeven point of sales which is represented by an equation that is based on formula for cost volume profit. At the point of breakeven sales, the profit is zero and therefore the simplified CVP formula is used. Contribution analysis method: Under this method the additional or incremental sales revenue and costs related to it are analysed to determine the point of breakeven sales. Contribution is determined by deducting the total variable cost of the business (in case of firm dealing in single product) from the total revenue from the sale of the given product. This can also be determined by the graphical representation under which the line of total cost including both the fixed and variable cost is parallel to the variable cost. And at breakeven point both the lines of total revenue (which increases with the increase in level of output) and the total cost line are intersected by each other. The profit volume ratio: This is another method to identify the breakeven point for the product. It uses the formula to determine the point at which there is no profit and loss occurred in the business. Johnston (2017) confirmed that the formula for breakeven point can be used to identify the breakeven sales both in dollar terms and in terms of units. To determine the breakeven point in units the total fixed cost of the business (in case of a single product) or the allocated fixed cost to a particular product (in case of multiple products dealing) is divided with the contribution per unit. Contribution per unit is calculated by deducting the variable cost per unit from the selling price per unit. The resulted figure from the above calculation gives the breakeven sales units. According to Gutierrez Dalsted (1990) below the breakeven point the company will not be able to recover its total fixed cost and hence incur losses and above breakeven point the firm starts generating profits fr om that particular product. To calculate the breakeven point in terms of dollars the total fixed cost involved in the production of a particular product is divided with the contribution margin of that product. Contribution margin is determined by dividing the contribution per unit by the selling price per unit of the concerned product. The prime thrust of the management that remains for all the times throughout the business is to generate good profitability level and hence CVP analysis plays significant role in the profit planning of the firm. It also facilitates the cost control decision making. Profit cannot be attained in the business till the point of breakeven. Therefore, after breakeven point it is necessary to examine the shifts in the cost and the volume. For this purpose cost volume profitability analysis is considered. The CVP analysis allows the managers in analysing the potential impact of broad set of strategic decisions in the key areas such as pricing policies, market expansions or the change in product mixes etc., on the overall profitability of the business. The critical analysis of cost volume profitability of the business enables the managers of the firm to determine and set a desired level of profit to be target in the given period and to emphasize on its relationship with other income statement elements so as to determine the unknown. One of the common unknown element in such applications is the volume of sales that must be generated to achieve the desired level of profits. The major benefits of the CVP analysis can be derived by the managers in the areas like profit planning, decision making, price determination, cost control and in the preparation of budgets. For the planning of profits it is important to find the most profitable and suitable combination of selling price, volume and the cost. Therefore, by using CVP analysis managers can take appropriate and adequate measures to increase its profits by reducing the related costs of the particular activity. It therefore helps in assessing the firms margin of safety. Yuan (2009) argued that CVP analysis also supports the decision making process of managers when they have to determine the production mix, whether to produce the product or buy it from external market, selection of suitable distribution channel and the marketing strategy that must be used, choosing the appropriate pricing policy. CVP analysis also serves a base to determine the price of the product which the firm is dealing in by establishi ng the sensitivity of product prices to its sales volume. Since, CVP helps in evaluating the impact of cost on sales volume in order to review the firms profits and total costs incurred. To achieve the targeted profits, firms determine the desired sales level and hence prepare various flexible budgets which can indicate the estimated costs and expected revenues at different stages of production (Garrison, Noreen Brewer McGowan, 2010). From the above study, it can be concluded that, to achieve the desired results from the business managers must formulate such strategies and policies which can serve the purpose. Seducing The French Charles Law As I sit outside my favorite caf?, drinking wine as the sun slowly dies off into the twilight of dusk, I hear the most obnoxious noise. It is a few teenagers trying to speak their best English. I watch them for a few minutes, and I am disgusted. If these children represent the future, I weep. I see a whole generation with no direction, no true love of their beautiful country, no nationalism in them. Instead they wear blue jeans, and drink that despicable liquid called ?Coca-Cola'. These younger generations are imitating a society across an ocean. I see restaurants grilling up American cuisine's and California wines. Youths are wearing American brand clothing, and traveling to America to tour their commercialism empire. Why are they doing this? Simple, Americanization. Americanization is happening all around us, not just to our children who are emptying into the streets speaking with their best James Dean. American thought has crept into our very lives with everything we do; our day to day routine is now being controlled by American ideals. Every French citizen is falling into the clutches of consumerism and conformity. We are turning into a trinket society, worshipping of a mammon, and witnessing to the death of our beloved culture. I shed a tear to think we are turning into a materialistic society like that of America where as whose society is dynamic and derived from consumer-driven economic growth. In falling into consumerism we are generating an endless increase of desires that can not b satisfied by the means that which we live in France. This lifestyle alienates the consumer to form bondage around them; it does not free them. The society in America is of destruction, not to be to be idolized. The waste of their mass consumption not only drains their national resources but those of deprived countries as well. Our on consumption does not stop with the caf?'s or the stores where we buy our food, but goes deeper into our society. American business has taken away our identity buying trying to get onto our economy and setting the standard for us. America is crawling into our society not only by food and movies but also through our economy, and businesses. Look at Frigidaire, Remington Rand-France and Simca, all three of them are foreign owned, or actually U.S. owned and two of them received massive layoffs, without notice, with no help in finding another job. We need to curb this foreign investment of French businesses and economy, it is our economy, let us control it. We should be weary of American investors, they are so big and overwhelming to our homeland producer's competition is impossible. As America comes into France and takes over the manufacturing industry they are helping our economic growth. The size of these companies are so enormous that their ability to sustain economic depressio n is in not question. The question should be, with America's ability to produce money and buy each other out buy ruthless takeovers acquiring 51% of their stock, what happens when companies get bought out? Then what, as we have learned from past American companies, lay-off's happen without a thought to the employee. We are not looking to get rid of foreigners, or what they bring to the table, what I think we should look to do is control. I believe that we need to regulate and control the availability of investments to Americans'. It is in America's best interest to take over French industry, and control its industry. They are afraid of us as a super power. They wish to control all our industry including those for our national defense so the can sit don and tell us what to do from a boardroom across the Atlantic. The overseers of the French population, those who across the ocean and say they do everything with a clear conscience have since barred an important technology from coming to France. These high tech products would help with our national defense, in the nuclear arms race, but America would fear us too much so they keep us in the dark to protect themselves from a country that can live without a dying passion to consume every little gadget
